 MY LIBRARY ACTIVITIES

2022-23

 

The library activities report for the session 2022-23 is as under :

1.      The vidyalaya library is situated in peaceful environment and equipped with suitable and sufficient furniture and equipments and have installed one computer set, one barcode scanner, power backup, one newspaper stand, three display cum notice boards and two periodical display racks;

2.      The library follows Open Access System;

3.      The library has vast range of books including dictionaries, encyclopedia, subject reference books, multimedia, fiction and nonfiction books, NCERT text books, etc;

4.      The library is classified according to DDC classification scheme as per international standards;

5.      The library is automated on e-Granthalaya platform and books issue-return is done by using barcode technology and readers cards;

6.      Each student is issued two books at a time for one week and staff members are issued 05 books for 01 month;

7.      The library has developed catalogue in digital form for ready reference;

8.      The library has various corners like, Career Guidance & Counseling Corner, Science Corner,  Sports Corner, Teachers Corner, Reference Corner, New Arrivals Corner, etc;

9.      The library has subscribed to 25 magazines and 03 newspapers according to KVS library policy;

10.  The library has developed class libraries for classes I-V in primary section;

11.  The library activities are planned and monitored by library committee and sub committees as per KVS guidelines;

12.  The library has constituted a Readers/Book Cluband frequently organizes library competitions and activities like, Book Review Program and Books talk in library;

13.  Top 10 library readers list is prepared, updated and displayed as a regular feature of library readers club;

14.  Condemnation of old and out dated books is done every year;

15.  Delivery of innovative library services to both students as well as teachers in the form of online books, magazines, newspapers and subject oriented text materials both offline and online;

16.  Motivational stories and anecdotes are delivered for killing stress of students;

17.  Library Blogwww.librarykvkareazirakpur.blogspot.com :This blog is created keeping in mind the academic and ‘learning from home’ needs of our students and teachers in this digital era;

19.  Book Review Program is also organized and students also present book reviews in morning assembly platform;

20.  Online Quizzes using google quiz platform are conducted on interesting and useful topics, like India, books and authors, GK quiz series, Hindi language and literature, ICT, current affairs, Gandhi Jayanti, etc. ;

21.  Interactive regular library periods are being taken and supported with motivational stories, educational talks, educational resources, library services, books, magazines, newspapers and library blog and virtual library;

22.  Different Google forms are also used for receiving feedback and learning outcome of students;

23.  ‘100 Days Reading Challenge Campaign’ wasobserved inlibrary. Students and teachers participated in continuous reading for improvement in their skill and knowledge. Libray blog of KV K-Area ZIRAKPUR is used as a platform for online reading and related activities during thecovid 19 pandemic;

24.  Book exhibitions are organized as a regular feature on current topics.

25.  Activities of learning with fun, like storytelling, watching animated stories and participating in online competitions on library blog are being performed;

26.  House wise essay writing competition on ‘Women Freedom Fighters of India’ was conducted on 15-07-2022 as an inspirational tool;

27.  On the occasion of “हिंदी पखवाडा”book exhibition was organized to enhance students knowledge of Hindi language and literature;

28.  By virtue of Library Readers club, NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK was organized in library from 14-20 November 2022. Various competitions were organized in library to inculcate reading habits among students, like :

-          Book Review Competition in English as well as Hindi

-          Designing of Book Jacket and Book Mark

These competitions were organized house wise in both junior as well as senior groups.

ACTIVITIES PERFORMED DURING COVID 19 PANDEMIC SITUATION (SESSION 2020-21) BY SUKESH VERMA, LIBRARIAN 

The motive was how to face challenges of current crisis and to do something constructive for the education and welfare of our students :

 

Ø  Delivery of innovative library services to both students as well as teachers in the form of online books, magazines, newspapers and subject oriented text materials both offline and online;

Ø  Motivational stories and anecdotes are delivered for killing stress of students;

Ø  Library Blog www.librarykvdappar.blogspot.com :This blog is created keeping in mind the academic and ‘learning from home’ needs of our students and teachers in this pandemic situation of covid 19;

Ø  Library blog and Whatsapp was used as platform to observe

- समरसता दिवस (14-04-2020) and

- World Books and Copyright Day (23-04-2020)

Ø  Online Book Review Program is also organized using Google Form platform;

Ø  Interactive and boost up sessions are also being taken for Bharat Scouts and Guides students;

Ø  Interactive and boost up sessions of Awaken Citizen Program (ACP) are also being organized for class VII B students;

Ø  Online Quizzes using google quiz platform are conducted on interesting and useful topics, like India, books and authors, GK quiz series, Hindi language and literature, ICT, current affairs, Gandhi Jayanti, etc. ;

Ø  Interactive regular library periods are being taken on Google meet platform well supported by whatsapp, google form, google online quizzes, pics and voice messages, self motivational videos, educational videos, links to online educational resources, online library services, pdf books, magazines, newspapers and library blog and virtual library;

Ø  Different Google forms are used for receiving feedback and learning outcome of students;

Ø  ‘Online Reading Day’ was observed on 19-06-2020. Students and teachers took oath for continuous reading for improvement in their skill and knowledge. Libray blog of KV FAD DAPPAR is used as a platform for online reading and related activities during this covid 19 pandemic;

Ø  Different sessions of WEBINAR ON ‘राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गाँधी - जीवन व उनकी शिक्षाएं’ were organized from 23-09-2020 to 01-10-2020.

Ø  Activities of learning with fun, like storytelling, watching animated stories and participating in online competitions on library blog are being performed;

Ø  Talk on ‘Great Personalities of India’ is conducted, regularly as an inspirational tool during this pandemic situation;

Ø  On the occasion of ‘हिंदी पखवाड़ा’ हिंदी भाषा एवं साहित्य प्रश्नोत्तरी प्रतियोगिता भाग 1, 2 was organized to enhance students knowledge of Hindi language and literature;

Ø  Registration process of BS&G UNIT OF KV FAD DAPPAR was completed by me as I/C of BS&G KV DAPPAR;

Ø  भारत स्काउट्स एवं गाइड्स सर्वधर्म प्रार्थना ११/९/२०२० : इस अवसर पर गूगल मीट डिजिटल प्लेटफार्म के माध्यम से भारत के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति दिवंगत श्री प्रणव मुखर्जी, वीर कोरोना योद्धाओं तथा कोविड-१९ के प्रकोप के कारण हम सबको सदा के लिये छोड़ कर चले जाने वाले देश के बहादुर नागरिकों को श्रद्धा सुमन अर्पित कर भावभीनी श्रद्धांजलि दी गई I

Ø  भारत स्काउट्स एवं गाइड्स अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शांति दिवस : २१/९/२०२० को वर्चुअल मीट के माध्यम से अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शांति दिवस का आयोजन किया गया I विद्यार्थियों तथा शिक्षकों ने नृत्य, गीत-संगीत, कला, साहित्य, वृक्षारोपण, एवं प्रार्थना आदि प्रस्तुतियों के माध्यम से कार्यक्रम को चार चाँद लगा दिए I

Ø  भारत स्काउट्स एवं गाइड्स स्थापना दिवस : ०७/११/२०२० को वर्चुअल मीट के माध्यम से भारत स्काउट्स एवं गाइड्स स्थापना दिवस / झंडा दिवस का सफलतापूर्वक आयोजन किया गया I कार्यक्रम में प्रार्थना, ध्वजारोहण, झंडा गीत, भाषण एवं विभिन्न गतिविधियों का आयोजन किया गया I

Ø  Collection of donations for Armed forces flag day and NFCH.

Ø  PTTC program from 03-06-2020 to 02-07-2020 : Scouts, guides and unit leaders of KV FAD Dappar participated actively in online activities offered for PTTC Program by the BSG national headquarters through an online link.

Ø  BS&G campaign: हमारा संविधान हमारी पहचान (संविधान माह पर विशेष) : Created awareness on the Indian constitution by performing various activities on Google meet and whatsapp;

 

Ø  National Youth Day celebrated on 12 January 2021;

 

Ø  Celebrated World Thinking Day as a gesture of brotherhood on 22.02.2021.

 

Ø  Quiz on life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi Ji was organized for students on the occasion of 150^th Birth anniversary of Gandhi Ji;

 

Ø  Submitted my experiences for documentation of experiences in view of Covid 19;

 

Ø  Helped in conducting PISA, Diksha portal and CCT programs;

 

Ø  Created and submitted suggestions, communication materials and PPTs on NEP;

 

Ø  Submitted pics and self motivational video for display of glimpses of innovative activities of KVS;

 

Ø  Performing duties as co class teacher for class IX A and B;

 

Ø  Teachers’ Day celebration was organized for students and teachers using library blog # OUR TEACHERS OUR HEROES as platform for display of glimpses of students activities on the day ;

 

Ø  Successfully completed 1-9 NISHTHA courses (including Competency based Education modules 1-3) on Diksha portal;

 

Ø  Activities/ competitions organized for students on Gandagi Mukt Mera Gaon theme;
